A native of Northern Arkansas, Brian Mickey is currently the Band Director at Magnolia Junior High School in Magnolia, Arkansas. He also serves as Assistant Band Director at Magnolia High School. Prior to his current position, he taught in the public school systems of Arkansas and Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting from Northeast Louisiana University. While at NLU he served as the assistant director of the Concert Band and director of the Dixieland Jazz Band.

Mr. Mickey is also a member of the adjunct music faculty at Southern Arkansas University where he teaches private trumpet and french horn lessons. He has been a guest conductor at numerous band camps and with the Riverside Community Band. He is also an active trumpet player and soloist.
